Why Choose a Gas Fireplace Insert
A gas insert transforms your existing open fireplace into an efficient heating source. Inserts slide into your current firebox and use your existing chimney with a new liner, giving you real flames and serious heat without the drafts and energy loss of an open hearth.
Gas inserts are one of the most popular upgrades we install at Barnhill Chimney. Homeowners love the instant-on convenience, the dramatic improvement in heating efficiency, and the fact that they eliminate the creosote and smoke smell associated with open wood burning.
Our Lexington showroom features several gas inserts you can see in person, and as a local dealer for Kozy Heat, Fireplace Xtrordinair, Majestic, and Lopi, we can order the right insert for nearly any fireplace. We handle the complete process—from measuring your firebox to installing the liner and connecting the gas line—so your upgrade is seamless.
Each gas insert for sale below includes an instant estimate, so you can see what your fireplace conversion costs, installation included, before you ever pick up the phone.

Common Questions About Gas Fireplace Inserts
What is a gas fireplace insert?
A sealed gas fireplace built to slide into an existing wood-burning fireplace. It vents through a new liner in your chimney and turns a drafty open fireplace into an efficient heater with a glass front and a remote.
How much does a gas fireplace insert cost installed?
Every insert on this page has an instant estimate that includes the unit, the liner kit, and installation. Gas line work and surround options are quoted after the pre-site visit.
What size gas fireplace insert do I need?
Measure your firebox opening: width, height, and depth. Each product page lists the minimum opening, and the pre-site visit confirms the fit before anything is ordered.
Direct vent or vent-free insert?
Direct vent inserts are sealed and vent outside, which is what we recommend and install most often. Vent-free inserts carry room-size limits and are not the right fit for every home.
